HIGHSCHOOL COACHES

In high school, he excelled in both football and wrestling. As a football player, he was an All-League 1st Team Offensive Tackle and Defensive Linebacker, an All-State and All-Decade Offensive Tackle, and earned the titles of Team Captain and MVP. His exceptional performance secured him a football scholarship to Coffeyville Community College. In wrestling, he became a League, Regional, and State Champion, and was recognized as the Most Improved Wrestler of the Year.


At Coffeyville Community College, he continued his football career with distinction, contributing to an 11-0 record and a NJCAA National Championship in 1990. He was named the Most Improved Player of the Year in 1991, served as Team Captain, and earned 2nd Team All-Conference honors, which led to a scholarship at Western Illinois University. At Western Illinois, he played as a linebacker and helped the team achieve an 11-2 record in 1992.


Coach Johnson served in the United States Air Force for 22 and a half years and this is where his coaching career began with a series of successful basketball coaching roles at various military bases and schools, where he led teams to multiple undefeated seasons and championships. Notably, he was named Junior NBA/WNBA Coach of the Year in 2006 and coached AAU basketball teams in Hawaii to state championships and top finishes between 2007 and 2011.


At Western High School, he served as Assistant Wrestling Coach from 2018 to 2019, producing 1 State Champion, 1 State Runner-Up, 11 State Qualifiers, and 3 All-Americans. Promoted to Head Wrestling Coach in 2020, he led the team to an undefeated conference championship and broke several school records for state qualifiers and champions. Under his leadership, the team achieved top finishes in various tournaments, including a 2nd place finish at the 4A State Tournament in 2022. As of May 2024, Coach Johnson has coached 7 State Champions, 23 State Medals, 4 All-Americans, 2 Team League Titles, further cementing his legacy.

Assistant Coach:

Jason Sulliban

Coach Jason Sulliban was born and raised in Honolulu Hawaii but has lived in Las Vegas since 2000. He received a BS in Animal Science from Washington State University and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University. Jason has played sports throughout his life, growing up playing soccer and baseball, and played volleyball in high school and college. Once he had children of his own, coaching was a natural next step.

He coached youth soccer for many years and when his sons began wrestling, he learned the sport and began assistant coaching on their youth wrestling teams. While Coach Sulliban has never wrestled himself, he has been training in Brasílian Jiu Jitsu since 2009 and holds the rank of brown belt. Favorite quote: “Whatever doesn’t kill me had better start running”

Assistant Coach:

Carlos Lemus

Coach Carlos Lemus was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. Growing up he exhibited passion for sports, primarily soccer going on to win multiple club & school league championships but upon reaching high school that passion changed to wrestling.


While misfortune affected much of that career he was still able to help his team win their first conference title in school history! Carlos secured a scholarship by the United States Air Force to attend any college on a full ride scholarship to pursue a commission into the Armed Forces.


Carlos is currently studying to get a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. While working towards that degree, he wrestled for UNLV in the NCWA where he took 3rd at the West Coast Conference qualifying for nationals and earning an Academic All-American honor. While also pursuing a commission with aspirations of being a Pilot in the USAF, he also started the Dub Wrestling club for youth wrestling in Spring of 2022 free of charge to the community that once nurtured him.


Starting his coaching career as an assistant to Coach Johnson, Carlos has helped Western HS achieve a runner-up finish in the 2022 state championship and another conference title in 2024. Since starting Dub Wrestling, Carlos has helped produce 7 State Champions, 4 All-Americans, 20 State Medals and 20 Academic All Americans.

Coach Alex Sulliban was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. He first started training Jiu-Jitsu at Wand Fight Team and then began Wrestling for Pistol Pete at the age of 7. Sticking with the sport for his entire youth and excited for High School, Coach Alex attended Western HS.


During his tenure at Western, Alex was a 3X State Qualifier, 2X State Placer and the 2022 170 Pound State Champion. That same year Alex became a USA Wrestling All-American. Alex helped lead Western to their first Conference Title & a runner-up finish at the 2022 NIAA state championship in school history!


Alex is currently studying to get a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to become a Physician Assistant. Alex wrestled in the NCWA for UNLV as a true freshman where he was the West Coast Conference Champion and made it all the way to the blood rounds of the NCWA national tournament. Alex also earned Academic All-American Honors.


Having over a 10+ years of wrestling experience and knowledge to share, Coach Alex began his coaching career as an assistant to Coach Johnson helping achieve their goals. Alex has helped produce 4 State Champions, 2 All-Americans, 16 State Medals in his short tenure as Coach. He now looks to take his talents to help prepare the next generation of Nevada wrestlers by helping both our High school and Youth athletes reach their goals.

Assistant Coach:

Leandro Arias

Coach Leandro Arias comes to us from Cheyenne, Wyoming where he was a 2x All-American Wrestler and 2x Wyoming Wrestling State Champion.


He then went on to spend two years wrestling at Chadron State College and two years at The University of Nebraska at Kearny; as a true freshman he led the Eagles in wins, pins and reversals and placed sixth at the NCAA West Regional tournament.


Coach Arias has coached wrestling and No Gi classes throughout the Las Vegas Valley! Coach Arias is now an Elementary School Teacher here in Las Vegas!

Kevin Henry

Coach Kevin Henry moved to Las Vegas from Minnesota after his Sophomore year of high school at St. Agnes. In 2016 - he was a finalist at Shadow Ridge High School, Las Vegas, NV, in the 182 weight group for the Nevada State.

After high school, he coached a year in Oakland at 'Beat the Streets' in 2018 - 2019 season.

Soon after, Coach Henry wrestled in college at San Francisco State University from 2016 - 2020.

Currently, Coach Henry is a 3rd Grade Elementary School Teacher at Red Rock Elementary School in Las Vegas, NV
